The European Medicines Agency (EMA) says it ‘and four other health and environment agencies of the European Union (EU) work together to implement the One Health approach. It aims to enable the EU and its Member States to better prevent, predict, detect and respond to health threats.’
In Europe, five agencies make up the One Health task force:
1. EMA for medicines.
2. ECDC for disease prevention and control.
3. ECHA for chemicals.
4. EEA for the environment.
5. EFSA for food safety and sustainability.
These five EU agencies published One Health: a joint framework for action, which aims to strengthen cooperation to support the implementation of the One Health agenda in the EU.
